Andalucia’s lasting Moorish legacy is never better explored than on foot. Imagine a slow savouring of all the sights, from Granada’s world-famous Alhambra, Ronda’s iconic bridged canyon, the Pueblo Blancos scattered amongst the hills to the region’s lesser known charms: the olive groves, gorges, incredible rock formations and fields of flowers in Spring.
The Cabo de Gata National Park is less well known outside Spain, although you may have seen it in many famous movies, such as A Fistful of Dollars and Indiana Jones and the last Crusade. The National Park forms Andalucia’s longest section of unspoilt coast – perfect for balmy hiking in Autumn and Spring sunshine, with time built in for a swim during the day on sweeping deserted beaches.
