Karpathos is situated between Crete and Rhodes and is a well-kept secret unfolding a unique combination of traditions, folklore and hospitality to its visitors. There is an extensive network of old footpaths in the interior of the island, allowing walkers to enjoy panoramic views over the mountains and the dramatic coast lines.
You start in Diafani, a small port in the north. By boat you go to a secluded bay and walk along the shore. Via a quiet valley you walk to Ancient Vroukounta and up to the traditional village of Olympos, where inhabitants are still dressed in old traditional costumes and speak their local, old dialect. A magnificent walk takes you via the spine of the central mountain to the west coast. On the last day of your trip you can enjoy the sea and the beach in a quiet bay.
