Start: Ronda Finish: Ronda
Arrival today in Ronda, a historic town on the edge of the Tajo gorge, with a typically Andalusian atmosphere.
To do: Travel to the first accommodation.
Village: Ronda
A beautiful bike route for the first day of the program. Passing through Arriate, you enter the province of Cádiz with a steep climb. Passing through Setenil de las Bodegas - situated on a natural viewpoint above the Guadalporcun River - you reach Olvera, another beautiful white village surrounded by farmland and vast olive groves.
Depending on the type of bike you have, leaving Olvera, you can choose to take the tranquil Vía Verde de la Sierra or continue on generally downhill asphalted interior roads through pastures and olive groves. Once in Coripe, there's a challenging final ascent towards Zahara de la Sierra, but the village and hotel (with a garden and a pool with panoramic views) are worth it.
Challenge: 83.5 km /51,8 mill , 1350 m ascent
Villages: Setenil, Arriate, Olvera, Coripe, Zahara de la Sierra
A tough start today, where a climb of 470m needs to be conquered. Without needing to enter Grazalema, you can still enjoy fantastic views while continuing through Benaocaz amidst pastures towards Ubrique, a town famous for its leather industry.
In Ubrique, there's a second ascent of 450m to Puerto Mojón de la Víbora in the heart of the Los Alcornoques Natural Park. But from there, you'll enjoy almost 20 km of gentler descent to Jimera station.
Depending on the day and the schedule of RENFE Cercanías, you can catch a train in Jimera that takes you to Benaoján in 5 minutes. If you're out of luck, you'll need to add another 10 km to the bike route, climbing up to the Benaojan Viewpoint (another 385 m ascent) where you can detour to the Cuevas de la Pileta, with its prehistoric cave paintings.
Challenge: 79 km, 1425 m ascent (+10 km, + 385 m extra ascent if you don't catch the train)
Villages: Benaocaz, Ubrique, Cortes de la Frontera, Benaoján
At the end of the program, you return to Ronda in the morning. You can opt for a short but challenging route via Jimera and the Puerto de Las Encinas Borrachas (1000m), with 2 climbs of 350m and one smaller climb of 175m at the beginning. The reward is the panoramic views during the descent to Ronda, where you enter through 'la puerta grande', passing the historic Tajo bridge. If you prefer to skip these climbs, you can travel by train (with the bike) to Ronda or cycle directly via La Indiana.
Challenge: 26 / 13.5 km, 900 / 425m ascent
Villages: Jimera del Ibar, Atajate, Ronda

Thank you for a wonderful trip. Everything was organized and planned perfectly. The maps and particularly the GPX tracks made navigation a breeze. Ferry and the staff at the San Francisco were exceptionally helpful and accommodating. We didn’t have a single complaint either about the lodgings or about the service.
