Start: Mahón Finish: Mahón
Arrival on Menorca, where you settle in at your accommodation in the capital city of Mahón. This lovely port makes an ideal base for your introduction to the island, with its intriguing history of occupation by the English, French and Spanish. The atmospheric city centre includes an interesting mix of architectural styles, with stately homes and monuments, such as the Teatre Principal and the churches of San Francesc and Santa María
Challenge: Travel to Menorca.
You start off with a short transfer to the fishing village of Es Grau, just outside S'Albufera Natural Park. Here you pick up the Cami de Cavalls, which takes you through marshes and dune areas around an enormous freshwater lake. Once past Cape Favaritx, the landscape becomes steeper and rockier. The only splash of colour in this stark landscape are the bright pink blooms of Carpobrotus. Traversing salt-water marshes, you reach the holiday town of Port d'Addaia. Short transfer to the next accommodation, in Menorca's northernmost fishing village.
Challenge: 18 km / 11 mi, 5.5 - 6 hrs, 350 m ascent and descent.
Taxi transfer to Cap de Cavalleria, where you pick up the Camí dels Cavalls for a walk along the rough, isolated coastline of the island’s most mountainous area. The terrain alternates between rocky cliffs and low marshlands, and you traverse Mediterranean woodlands which are home to a variety of birds. Transfer back to your accommodation in Fornells
Challenge: 15 km / 9,5 mi, 5.5 hrs, 350 m ascent and descent.
After amorning transfer, today you walk from Platja Cala Pilar through a flatter landscape of open farmland. Here, the local cheese “Queso de Mahón” is made on old farmsteads dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries. A relatively easy day and time this afternoon to relax at your accommodation or visit Ciutadella.
Challenge: 14 km / 8,5 mi, 4 hrs, 200 m ascent and descent.
Today's route starts in Cala Morell, where your taxi driver will drop you, and takes you into an area dotted with ancient dwellings from the Talaiotic period. Surrounded by typical Mediterranean plants - rosemary, rockrose and chamomile - you make your way toward a dry limestone plateau, where the Tramuntana wind blows continuously and fields are protected by high walls. No modern houses in sight just “barracas”, strange pyramidal structures from prehistoric times. Your route ends in the pretty port town of Ciutadella.
You have the option to shorten the route 4 km by taking the bus from Cales Piques.
Challenge: 18 - 14 km / 11- 8,5 mi , 6 / 4 hrs, 250 / 200 m ascent and descent.
Short transfer to Son Xoriguer, to continue your trek along the coast. The scenery here is mainly flat and you walk through woodlands of evergreen oaks, firs and wild olive trees, passing gorgeous coves such as Platges de Son Saura or Cala en Turqueta. Later, the terrain becomes more rugged and you traverse deep ravines on your way to the coastal village of Cala Galdana.
Challenge: 15 km / 9,5 mi, 4.5 hrs, 250 m ascent and descent.
On your last walk you can choose between walking on a rough path of the coast, where you can visit an area home to the Mediterranean species Hermann’s tortoise (Testudo hermanni). Or you can walk on th Camí de Cavalls through a holm oak wood with remains of an ancient lime kiln to Migjorn plateau.
At Platja de Binigaus, both paths join. Private transfer to your hotel in Mahón.

I had no idea what the level of difficulty would be. It was a push for me, but I enjoyed it. I walked four out of the six days. The second day of the trail and the fifth day of the trail, both were stunning, though difficult.
